Reviews of Norwegian 2014 Tour
October 2014

"Venue: The North Cape Film Festival. Latitude: 71 degrees North. NYCity Slickers fired up the crowd from the first bar, like an in-door Aurora Borealis, and we all went through the roof. And they went on to conquer and rock Norway. Please come back ya’hear?"

—Morten Wetland, former Norwegian Ambassador to the UN

"NYCity Slickers toured Norway September 2014, playing sold-out clubs and participating in workshops with Norwegian musicians and music students. The tour highlighted common cultural roots and strengthened people-to-people bonds. U.S. Embassy Oslo was proud to be a co-sponsor of the NYCity Slickers’ tour, helping Norwegians in enjoying some real Americana."

"The Norwegian audience loved the NYCity Slickers from the first gig in Honningsvåg. The band hit it off at Perleporten live club with their unique, head-on bluegrass music, New York City style, and people reacted like crazy, danced, sang and totally enjoyed the music. The New York based band connected immediately with the locals of the northern town, and people showed up everywhere they played, like in the church of Honningsvag, where the Slickers gave a touching gospel concert. The celebrity culture- and political editor of Norwegian daily Dagbladet, Marie Simonsen, put it this way: If the NYCity Slickers played regularly in the church, it would be packed every Sunday. The word spread from north to south on social media in Norway, and it was sold out houses everywhere they played, in Honningsvåg, Oslo, Halden and Lillestrøm."

"We, the staff and our guests, had a great time together with you on the concert at Klimt here in Lillestrom that ended your Norwegian Tour 2014. Everything was great. It started with great communication before the concert, the band showed up on time, the soundcheck went smoothly and the show you put on was awesome. After the show many of our guests responded with likes on Facebook and many are asking when you will be back. And I believe some of the guests even have tried to see you in New York. All the best to you and we are looking forward to seeing you in Lillestrom when you hopefully will be back in Norway!"

—Tormod Johansen, CEO Klimt
